Public Speaking Teleprompter App Reviews

Was really excited about using this app. However, my first task was to import my speech through Dropbox and the app is consistently freezing on me and not allow me to import anything. It gave me the error "failed user name and password", which is fine, perhaps I mistyped it, but at this point the app is frozen and will no longer function. So I force quit the app and started it up again. When I go to import from Dropbox, it wont even allow me to re-enter my info because its saved it in the system, so immediately that app says "failed user name and password" and is frozen again. Very disappointing. Would love to use the app if it actually worked.

Cant figure out how to play back what I recorded. The UI is not intuitive and easy to navigate.

It may be an "off label" use, but I use this app for my lyrics when I write a song, and it makes the learning process so much better. You can adjust the speed it scrolls, and the size of the words. I would be lost without this app!

I was never a very confident public speaker, but Speech Maker has helped me improve my game! It also gives access to other speeches, so I can observe how others present themselves and the topics. I recommend trying it out. It doesn’t cost much and has been worth every penny to me!

Playback of recorded audio doesnt work. That had value. Tts has no value, as the voice is robotic sounding. Speech to text would be more helpful to prepare for presentations.

I found this app to be useful for presentations. Its definitely a great idea for use of the ipad.

I just bought this and its unusable for autoscroll. It this a 4.2.1 issue..? I cannot believe its alway been broken and no one has left as feedback regarding it.

The program has crashed every time after about eight minutes of playing back a recorded 15 minute speech. I have always been able to resume. Its great to speed up the scrolling and adjust the timing of the speeches. I love the program and would like to see this issue resolved. The scrolling works great. But I am worried that it might crash during a live presentation. I have been able to seamlessly upload and download to GoogleDocs - a great boon. Would give it a five except for the playback.

SpeechMaker will not load .txt nor .HTML files thru iTunes! Seems there is no way to get help from developer -- his tech support section does not even list SpeechMaker!! Cheap, but not even worth the two bucks!!

Used to be an innovative app. Hasnt been updated since 2010. The whole point is to be able to track time as you speak. But that feature doesnt work because you cant adjust the time that you want to speech to take. Therefore time passed and time remaining are irrelevant. The app crashes anytime you try to change the default time, which is always 240. If they would fix this would still be a good app. Get Teleprompt+ instead

It is virtually impossible to import documents from google docs or drop box. The issue needs to be resolved or the app is worthless.

Help! All of my content has been lost in your recent disastrous upgrade! Help! Ive lost numerous sermons, studies, presentations, weddings, funerals, disaster! help!

Check out my 2010 review — in short I loved it. Speechmaker has had maybe three updates since then but has worked with every iPad and iOS since then. I have read short essays and poetry etc. to a live audience 4 or more times without a hitch. I was devastated to find my glee for a new update turning to horror as it now would not even load. I have an iPad Air. It will load onto my iPhone 5S but that is not something I would want to use. I rebooted my iPad (no success) and will try deleting and reload. I will amend my review if I have any success. Success! I deleted the app directly from my iPad and wondered at the cloud icon that remained. Nevertheless, I reloaded it from the cloud and it opens without hesitation. This is the biggest update I’ve seen adding support for more file types and control gestures for font size. I always keep my content in duplicate in a folder on my iMac and would advise the precaution for all apps. Perhaps Dewey7777 can restore his device from his last sync and save the content before re-installing. Good luck!

I love tis apps, but there can be some improvements. Such as the highlighting, there is only red. This would be better if there were at least three other colors besides the red. The last update I lost all my speeches and I still rate this app a four. If the other colors are added and can be updated without destroying everything on app but the speeches put there by its creator. I will gladly rate it a five.

This app has AMAZING potential. The update crashed every time I opened it, I had to delete and re download the app so it could at least open. And the drop box link didnt work on the last version and crashes on this one to..... Please fix it ASAP. There is not to many apps like this and I have tried the great majority of them and this is the closest of what I need..... I just cant have it crash when Im trying to give a speech.

The grammar tool is very useful Ive never seen anything like it. Gives a great overview immediately of any content showing all types of grammar. Keeping all the speeches in one database is also very cool. Nice app.
